Marion Brickwedde, Dr. in Neuroscience

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Charité in Berlin. Over the years I have specialised in magneto- and electrophysiological brain imaging and data analysis using EEG, SQUID-MEG, OPM-MEG in brain copmuter interfaces. My goal is to uncover the detailed functionality of neuronal oscillations and neural circuits for perception and neuronal plasticity.

Neural Oscillations orchestrate the transfer and integration of information in the brain, realized by large populations of neurons joining into synchroneous activity. They are crucial for nearly all brain-related processes, such as cognition, perception, memory and sleep. Despite more than 100 years of research on neural oscillations, a lot of questions remain. My goal is to uncover the mechanism underlying neural oscillations and explore the potential of non-invasive brain stimulation for treating oscillatory deficits in neural deseases.
